Devotion to Our Lady
"It is impossible that a servant of Mary be damned, provided he serves
her faithfully and commends himself to her maternal protection."
St. Alphonsus Liguori, Doctor of the Church (1696-1787)

LITANIES FOR THE MONTH OF MARCH
Easter Sunday has a variable date―being celebrated on the Sunday following the Paschal Full Moon―and therefore being celebrated as early as March 22nd or as late as April 25th. Consequently, the following feasts―which depend upon when Easter Sunday falls in any particular year―also have variable dates for the feast, these are: Holy Thursday being the 3rd day before Easter; Good Friday being the 2nd day before Easter; Holy Thursday being one day before Easter;  Ascension Thursday being the 40th day after Easter; Pentecost Sunday being the 50th day after Easter; Trinity Sunday being the 57th day after Easter; Corpus Christi being the 61st day after Easter and the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus being the 69th day after Easter. As a result of this, the litanies in honor of these feast days are likely to span a period of either two or three months. This is shown below:

FEAST DAY                      EARLIEST POSSIBLE DATE          LATEST POSSIBLE DATE
Holy Thursday                   March 19th                                       April 22nd
Good Friday                       March 20th                                       April 23rd
Holy Saturday                    March 21st                                       April 24th
EASTER SUNDAY            March 22nd                                     April 25th
Ascension Thursday          April 30th                                          June 3rd
Pentecost Sunday             May 10th                                          June 13th
Trinity Sunday                   May 17th                                          June 20th
Corpus Christi                   May 21st                                          June 24th
Sacred Heart of Jesus      May 29th                                           July 2nd

Hence, any litanies pertaining to the above variable feast days, will be posted on multiple months―to be either prayed or ignored―depending upon when that feast falls on any given year.

The month of March is both the month of the Annunciation to the Blessed Virigin Mary by St. Gabriel the Archangel (feast day being March 25th), and also the month that usually contains most of 40 Days of Lent, and therefore usually also sees the feast of Our Lady of Sorrows which is traditionally commemorated on the Friday after Passion Sunday (which is also the Friday before Palm Sunday).

Speaking of the Annunciation, March also celebrates the angel who brought Mary the message from on high - that angel being St. Gabriel the Archangel, whose feast is celebrated on March 24th (the day before the Annunciation).

Furthermore, we also have the feasts of St. Joseph, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary, on March 19th and also the feast of St. Patrick, patron saints of Ireland, on March 17th.

Cast, too, a look of mercy on the heretics and unbelievers for whom Thy divine Son shed His Precious Blood; enlighten and fortify them by Thy supernatural grace, in order that they may acknowledge the One True Church in which alone men can be saved, and may courageously enter that Church, without human fear, without temporal motives, and without vain subterfuges, and that thus, by a true and active confession of Faith, they may attain everlasting salvation. V. Pray for us O holy Mother of God
R. That we made be made worthy of the promises of Christ

Let us pray.
Jesus, notwithstanding Thy Divine Nature as Son of God, equal and one with the Father, Thou didst deign to become incarnate as the Son of Man, assuming the condition of a pre-born Child in the womb of Thy Holy Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary. Thou, therefore, didst sanctify and elevate every maternal womb for all time and every person, whose life is begun at conception.

Jesus, manifest Thyself in the hearts of Thy people as the Eternal Son of God, Whose earthly life began in the womb of Most Holy Mary. Thou couldst have chosen to commence Thy Messianic mission in another manner; however, Thou didst show Thy love for us by becoming a pre-born Infant in the womb of Thy Holy Mother. Thou didst take on the total human existence from conception to death. Thou didst consent to be carried in the womb of the Blessed Virgin Mary and then, after birth, saved us by Thy suffering and death on the Cross. From conception to death we live and have our being in Thee.

Jesus, we adore and thank Thee for choosing to become incarnate in the womb of Thy Mother, Mary. We beseech Thee to bless all mothers and intercede with the Holy Spirit and Thy Father, that every infant in the womb receive Thy precious gift of life.

Jesus, conceived in the womb of Mary, grant that Mary's loving mantle overshadow these precious pre-born infants in the wombs of their mothers and assist in their birth. We ask this, Jesus, in Thy name, Who with the Father and Holy Spirit, livest and reignest forever. Amen.
