Devotion to Our Lady
"It is impossible that a servant of Mary be damned, provided he serves
her faithfully and commends himself to her maternal protection."
St. Alphonsus Liguori, Doctor of the Church (1696-1787)

LITANIES FOR THE MONTH OF JANUARY
The month of January is right in the middle of the Christmas Season, which lasts for 40 days, beginning on Christmas Day and ending on the Feast of the Presentation of the Infant Jesus in the Temple and the Purification of Our Lady (February 2nd). During the month of January we celebrate the feast of the Circumcision of Our Lord (January 1st), the Epiphany of Our Lord (January 6th), and the feast of the Holy Family (traditionally celebrated on the Sunday after the Epiphany). The entire Christmas season is, sadly, an acceleration through the infancy and childhood of Jesus, for it all has to be "crammed-in" before the seasons of Septuagesima and Lent arrive, which can be as early as the end of January.

Let us Pray
O Lord, Jesus Christ, Who hast said: Ask and ye shall receive; seek and ye shall find; knock and it shall be opened unto you: grant we beseech Thee, to us who ask the gift of Thy Divine love, that we may ever love Thee with all our hearts, and in all our words and actions, and never cease praising Thee. Give us, O Lord, a perpetual fear and love of Thy holy Name; for Thou never failest to govern those whom Thou dost solidly establish in Thy love. Who livest and reignest forever, unto ages of ages. Amen.
